Economics Education and Counselling in Enhancing Production and Efficiency A Case Study of Nasco Manufacturing Firm in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria

Abstract
The research examined economic education and counselling as drivers of improved production capacity and organisational efficiency: The case of Nasco Manufacturing Firm, Jos, Nigeria. The study population was 500 people, and the sample size was 222 people. Data was collected by administering standard questionnaires to respondents. In this investigation, the survey research design approach was used. Data were presented in percentage tables, and the hypotheses were tested with basic linear regression analysis. Product quality has a significant effect on the performance of Nasco manufacturing firms in Jos, Nigeria; productivity has a significant effect on the performance of Nasco manufacturing firms in Jos, Nigeria; product quantity has no significant effect on the performance of Nasco manufacturing firms in Jos, Nigeria; and profitability has a significant effect on the performance of Nasco manufacturing firms in Jos, Nigeria. The study indicated that to increase organisational performance, such companies must implement modalities that promote production capacity in their production process. Using it in the manufacturing process is guaranteed to improve the performance of such a company. It was recommended that Nasco conduct regular training sessions on economics and business fundamentals tailored to the manufacturing sector, focusing on cost management, efficiency, and market analysis, and offer individual and group counselling to address workplace challenges, encourage goal setting, and enhance interpersonal dynamics, among several other things.
